Dell EMC Sales Portal
DellEMC Sales Portal
The newly merged sales forces of Dell and DellEMC were looking for a “one-stop-shop” where they could “spend less time searching and more time selling.” They encountered a collection of confusing websites where sales documents were outdated and difficult to identify, navigation was not intuitive, and a search function did not work.
I was the Lead Visual Experience Designer teamed with a UX Designer and Content Strategist to organize and design an elegant front-end solution that addressed these issues. See our solution below.
Templates
We identified 3 key sections: a home page with the latest content based on user role; a Search Results page; and “Knowledge Centers,” curated sales information pages for DellEMC’s largest product lines.
Cards
The portal contains three different types of content. “Asset” cards: downloadable sales documents used to sell products to prospective clients. “Link” cards: links to external sale sites and tools. And "Knowledge Center” cards, featured product line areas on the sale portal.
Icons
The site features a system of custom icons to help users quickly identify the type of sales document they are looking for.
Styleguide
I headed up the gathering and organizing of all information into traditional spec documentation for formal handoff to the client’s front-end team. With the assistance of a production designer, we outputted 9 PDFs split between card types, responsive templates, and overarching styles.
